Faafouina Patisolo
Director
Malo le soifua maua ma le lagi manuia.
I am a first generation kiwi hailing from Fasito’otai on Mum’s side and Auala, Savaii on Dad’s. I am a mother of two, the eldest of six siblings, and as an active community resident, I live, work and play within my 15-minute neighbourhood. I have a background in the arts, a.k.a. “The World’s Greatest Samoan Oboist”, as a former professional orchestral musician. After cutting arts management teeth with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, I brought the arts to my environmental work producing the “Arts on Climate Change'' category of two EcoWest Festivals, and envisioning the '21-'22 “Matariki Night Ride” as a Bike Avondale cycle advocate.
I am currently the Chair of Taiohi Whakaari ā-Motu: NYDS (National Youth Drama School) and am passionate about contributing towards a thriving and connected community.
I am immensely honoured to be the inaugural Director of the Whau Pasifika Trust.
